WIXOM, Mich. --

A 40-year-old woman was hurt after jumping out of a third-story window during a fire at a Wixom apartment complex.

She was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Firefighters were called to the fire at Bristol Square Apartments off Beck Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

"It was pretty abrupt because they kicked out door open and a few other doors to make sure everyone got out," said one neighbor who did not want to be identified. "In the back of the building there were flames coming out of the top floor."

Officials said the fire was contained to the third floor.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
