Indiana Firefighter Died after Response

An Indiana firefighter collapsed and died last month following a response to a crash along a highway.

Bradley W. Green, 53, was a volunteer with Monroe Township-Cowan Fire Department in Muncie.

On May 25, Green complained of being hot while waiting with other firefighters for a wrecker to arrive at the scene of a crash involving an overturned semi, according to the USFA.

He removed his turnout gear, and was given water. After being treated at the scene, he rejoined his crew.

Several hours later, he collapsed in cardiac arrest and died.

Green had been with the fire department for 10 years, the USFA reported Wednesday.
