On Friday, more than $18 million in Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) were awarded to 123 fire departments throughout the United States.
This was the twenty-eighth round of FY '07 grants awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The goal of the AFG program is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical services organizations.
