An alleged marijuana operation went up in smoke Monday after fire destroyed a Sacramento home.

The fire started at 9:30 a.m. on Robshell Court. Sacramento Metro Fire Department officials said the home was totally engulfed in flames when they arrived, but they were able to knock the flames down quickly.

Officials said that 450 marijuana plants were found, and that one man who lived at the home also got in a scuffle with California Highway Patrol officers. The man's name was not released.

A hazardous materials team was briefly called after a 5-gallon container of liquid was found, but it turned out to be fertilizer.
