Ohio Fire Kills 2 Children Left With Babysitters

The two teens jumped from a window and told officials that three children were still inside.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio --

Authorities said two children were killed in an early-morning fire Saturday in Shaker Heights.

Fire officials said the blaze was reported at about 12:30 a.m on Rawnsdale Road.

The children were left home with two teenage baby sitters while the parents went out. The baby sitters escaped unharmed. Fire officials said the two teens jumped from a window and told officials that three children were still inside.

They were taken to the hospital, where 6-year-old Imoie Ogbuji and 2-year-old Chikora Ogbuji later died.

Anyachiemcka Ogbuji, 1, was taken to Akron Children's Hospital. The child suffered severe smoke inhalation, officials said.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
