Detroit Firefighters Rescue Two from House Fire

Firefighters had to perform CPR on one of the children enroute to the hospital.

DETROIT --

A man and two toddlers were rushed to an area hospital Friday morning after a house fire on the 3700 block of Van Dyke Street on Detroits east side.

I found the two children in the bedroom between the bed and the dresser laying on the floor," said Detroit firefighter Robert Distelrath.

Distelrath and another firefighter removed the children from the home. Firefighters had to perform CPR on one of the children enroute to the hospital.

Health officials said the 2-year-old and 3-year-old children are in intensive care.

As of late Friday, there was no word on the adults condition.
