Honolulu Firefighters Contain Brush Fire

Big Island fire crews on Monday contained a brush fire in North Hilo that has scorched nearly 800 acres.

Firefighters have been fighting the blaze since Friday evening.

Embers from a campfire sparked the fire, authorities said.

The fire is on land owned by the state. No structures are being threatened.

Units will remain on duty through the night to extinguish the fire.
