SHREVEPORT, La.-- 48-year-old Gary Cooper, of the Oil City-Vivian area, is dead after a Monday night collision with a Shreveport Fire truck.
It happened on North Market Street near the intersection with Lincoln Drive. Police say the pick-up hit the fire truck as crews were responding to a grass fire.
Three people were in that truck. Cooper later died at the hospital. The 22-year-old driver, Ronald Osborne, and a 16-year-old passenger, Brent Boome, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the scene said the fire truck had its lights and sirens on, but the truck failed to yield, causing the accident.
