Indiana Firefighters Battle Massive Blaze

MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. - A massive fire broke out Thursday morning around 6:00 at an apartment complex in McCordsville in Hancock County located along State Road 67.

Chopper 8 was on the scene during WISH-TV's Daybreak while firefighters worked to put out the flames at the Gateway Crossing apartment complex.

The fire spread to at least three building units. Heavy winds gusting to about 22 knots (roughly 25 m.p.h.) made fighting the fire difficult.

Residents were evacuated from the buildings, and so far no injuries have been reported.
