New Jersey Firefighter Accused of Theft

A volunteer firefighter is charged with taking money from burn victims.

He's accused of swiping cash from burn victims.

Robert Kephart, 35, is charged with theft.

He's a volunteer with the Pine Grove Fire Department in Camden County.

Police said he stole $7,200 from the fire department's burn foundation.

The money was raised during a softball fundraiser for the burn care unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Police said Kephart admitted to the crime and said he did it to help his family.

Kephart once worked at the Gloucester City Fire Department.
