Houston Firefighters Rescue Man From Manhole

Firefighters rescued a worker trapped in a southwest Houston manhole on Thursday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Officials said the worker was about 20 feet below ground on the West Loop near San Felipe shortly after 4 p.m. when he experienced leg pain and could not get out.

Two firefighters went into the manhole and pulled him to safety about an hour later.

The victim was alert and conscious when he was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
