Officer Rescues Father, Daughter From Pennsylvania Fire

Allegheny County 911 dispatchers said a police officer ran inside the home to rescue a child.

Crews were called to a house fire in Sharpsburg Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of Clay Street. (See Map)

Allegheny County 911 dispatchers said a police officer ran inside the home to rescue a child.

According to authorities, the officer was driving his route, saw smoke, went to the house and found a girl in her bedroom.

According to the officer, the fire appeared to have started in the girl's bedroom.

Once outside, the officer ran back into the home and found the girl's father trying to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters arrived shortly after and put the fire out.

Inside, they found a 3-foot alligator in a 50-gallon tank. The gator survived the blaze.
