FRANKLIN FURNACE, Ohio (AP) -- A fire truck tipped onto its side en route to a house fire and the driver was cited for failure to control the vehicle, according to a State Highway Patrol report.

One of the tires on Darren Murray's tanker truck went off the side of the road Friday morning. When Murray, 35, of Franklin Furnace, attempted to correct the problem, he lost control and the truck tipped onto its side, the patrol said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Firefighters from a neighboring department were called to help put out the house fire, the patrol said.

Murray, a volunteer firefighter in Green Township, was treated and released from a hospital. He told a trooper that the water in the truck, which can hold approximately 2,000 gallons, may have shifted during a turn.

Franklin Furnace is about 95 miles south of Columbus.
