GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- A restaurant here was destroyed by fire late Friday night, Grand Forks police say.

The blaze at the Green Mill started in the roof around 11 p.m., said Donnie Bryant, Sr., a master police officer with the Grand Forks Police Department. Bryant said the building is a total loss.

About 75 Green Mill patrons were evacuated and customers at a nearby bar also were evacuated. No injuries were reported.

Grand Forks Fire Department fire fighters could be seen subduing the fire on the south end of the roof early Saturday. Flames were coming out of the roof, the restaurant's windows were cracking, and the front of the building was collapsing. Smoke poured across Columbia Road.

A fire department spokesman said fire marshals were at the site on Saturday to determine the cause of the blaze.
