One Dead After Milk Truck, Pickup Truck Collide in Iowa

One man was killed when his pickup truck and a milk truck collided head-on, causing the trucks to burst into flames.
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- One man was killed when his pickup truck and a milk truck collided head-on, causing the trucks to burst into flames.

Firefighters were called to the accident about 5:15 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 52, officials with the Dubuque County sheriff's office said.

The pickup crossed the center line, striking the milk truck head-on, officials said.

The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the milk truck received minor injuries and was taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

The trucks were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, officials said.

The names of the drivers weren't immediately released.

The highway was closed for about five hours because of the crash.
