HAMPTON, Va. (AP) -- A school bus overturned in a ditch Monday, injuring 11 pupils, one seriously, officials said.
Investigators did not immediately know the cause of the crash, which appeared to involve only the bus, Fire Marshal Rick Rickett said.
The 11 students, ages 5 to 10, were taken to Sentara Hampton General Hospital, and the youngster with more serious injuries was flown from there to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The bus was on its way to Machen Elementary School with 32 students on board when the accident happened around 7:30 a.m., Rickett said. The driver appeared to be unharmed, he said.
