TORONTO (CP) -- Several small explosions were reported early Tuesday as a four-alarm fire tore through a furniture warehouse in the city's west-end, police said.

About 50 firefighters battled to contain the blaze that was throwing black smoke into the air.

No injuries were reported.

Two of the building's walls collapsed, and damage was reported to be extensive.

Neighbouring buildings were evacuated, and by mid-morning, fire crews were pouring water on a nearby structure to protect it from the fire.
