APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (AP) -- One woman was killed and two others injured when an AirEvac helicopter crash-landed near a supermarket's parking lot, authorities said.

The helicopter was trying to land to pick up a patient who had fallen and suffered a head injury late Tuesday.

Three women - a pilot, a flight paramedic and flight nurse - were aboard.

Authorities said flight paramedic Doreen Renee Johnson, 26, of Queen Creek, died at the scene of the crash. Pilot Susanna Corcoles and flight nurse Kelly Foster-Stopka were both hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Another helicopter was dispatched and picked up the patient with the head injury.

The National Transportation Safety Board was at the crash scene Wednesday to determine a possible cause.
