Man Dies In West Haven, Connecticut House Fire

A 43-year-old man died early Sunday morning in a house fire, town authorities said.
WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- A 43-year-old man died early Sunday morning in a house fire, town authorities said.

The victim's name was not released Sunday.

Police said a person who lived in one of the units at the Norwell Street home walked up to the Allingtown Fire Department at about 5:20 a.m. to report that the house was filled with smoke and one person was inside.

Firefighters found the victim inside the house and administered medical attention at the scene. He was later pronounced dead at St. Raphael Hospital.

Town detectives were investigating whether the fire was arson.
