Funeral Held for Philadelphia Firefighter Who Died Tuesday From a Heart Attack

Port Richmond - October 10, 2003 -- It's been a sad morning in Port Richmond. Philadelphia Mayor John Street and Fire Commissioner Harold Hairston attended funeral services for firefighter James Allen who died Tuesday from a heart attack.

He collapsed while on the roof of a burning row-home. Fellow firefighters tried but failed to revive the 49-year-old veteran of the department.

Allen was the son of a firefighter. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
