The 2003 FIRE Act Grants are coming, probably beginning in the early part of June. And over the next 12 months, aiming for a weekly announcement, approximately 7,000 departments will be notified of their success.
Brian Cowan, Chief, Grants Program Branch, FEMA, and Richard Goodman, Deputy Procurement Officer, FEMA, have the list of about 15,000 applications which made it through peer review. Goodman's office is now contacting departments to get the answers to vital questions, questions that keep a department in the running.
