ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. --
Firefighters spent early Thursday morning battling a fire at a metal recycling plant in Ellwood City.
The blaze broke out at about 3:30 a.m. at the INMETCO plant along Jamison Avenue.
Seven fire departments with 20 fire trucks surrounded the large, smoking buildings.
At about 6:30 a.m., firefighters took to using foam to fight the flames, which had been contained to the roof.
Officials said they suspect the cause of the fire to be overheated batteries stored in the facility.
No injuries were reported.
