Amidst the tornado devastation in Tennessee, Briceville VFD founding member
Robert Glenn Poore, 71 died of a suspected heart attack during rescue
efforts.
Several members of the department including Poore were at the station watching the television weather reports and knew it was coming their way according to Assistant Chief James Wilson. The station was spared but the house next door was lost. Wilson said he was unaware of any injuries in the small town and population of 700-800 people they protect.
Wilson said the members scrambled to check the needs of 10 or so families that had homes damaged.
