Okla. Firefighter Seriously Injured Battling Blaze

A veteran Tulsa firefighter was seriously injured while battling a blaze on New Year's Eve, according to KRMG Radio.Crews responded to the fire at a home in the 4900 block of North Elwood Avenue Saturday night.Officials say a Mayday signal was transmitted during the blaze and that the downed firefighter was found without a pulse and was not breathing.

A veteran Tulsa firefighter was seriously injured while battling a blaze on New Year's Eve, according to KRMG Radio.

Crews responded to the fire at a home in the 4900 block of North Elwood Avenue Saturday night.

Officials say a Mayday signal was transmitted during the blaze and that the downed firefighter was found without a pulse and was not breathing.

He was rescued from the structure and was revived by his colleagues and was transported to an area hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
