Jan. 13--Some portable classrooms at Cypress Springs Elementary School have been evacuated after an odor was reported, and a hazardous materials squad is currently at the scene.

Crews were dispatched to the school about 11:15 a.m. today. It's not clear how many portables have been affected, or whether the evacuation was initiated by the school or Hazmat officials.

The Hazmat team is working to find the source of the smell, an official said, which was described in an Orange County Fire Rescue alert as an "unknown type of odor."

A Fire Rescue spokeswoman said that no illnesses requiring anyone to be transported from the school for treatment had been reported by officials at the scene as of about noon.
