A Minas Gerais, Brazil firefighter assisting at a crash and three other people were killed by a truck loaded with cattle that drove through the scene Saturday morning.

A Minas Gerais, Brazil firefighter assisting at a crash and three other people were killed by a truck loaded with cattle that drove through the scene Saturday morning, according to Terra Networks.

Firefighter Claudionor da Silva Cordeiro, 32, was working alongside colleagues at the crash in Montes Claros when he was killed by the oncoming driver around 8:40 a.m.

Crews were attempting to extricate a civilian from one of the vehicles involved in the earlier crash when the incident occurred.

A parked fire engine sustained damage in the collision.

After traveling through the scene, the truck went into a ravine, according to G1-TV.

News reports state that the truck's brakes went out during the crash.

The driver was arrested and taken to the police station.
