A Kentucky fire department needs help to rebuild after a destructive tornado tore through its firehouse earlier this month.

Milton Fire & Rescue Station 2 was destroyed in the March 2 storm, according to The Kentucky Post.

The tornado also claimed a 1983 Spartan Fire Engine, a mobile fish fry trailer, gear, radios and pagers and other items stored in the station.

The department relies on donations and officials said that losing the trailer has been a big blow to its funding.

Twenty events were slated during the Lenten season, but with loss of the trailer, the department could lose 50 percent of its operating budget for this year.

Donations to help Milton Fire & Rescue cam be mailed to: Fire & Rescue P.O. Box 256 Milton, Kentucky 40045 through the department's target=new>website.
