FDNY members participated in the 251st annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Manhattan on March 17, and carried 343 flags ito represent the department members killed on Sept. 11, 2001.
Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano and Chief of Department Edward Kilduff led the walk up Fifth Avenue, reports the FDNY. The march featured the Emerald Society Pipes and Drums Band, the EMS Pipes and Drums Band, and Fire and EMS members carrying the 343 American flags.
