The search is on for the person who authorities say broke into the Rison Police Department and set it on fire after taking several items early Monday morning.

The police department section of City Hall was gutted following the incident, Cleveland County Sheriff's Capt. Gary Young told The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

"It's still standing," he told the newspaper. "But there's no way they can work in there."

A newspaper carrier reported the fire around 3 a.m.

While the building is not equipped with surveillance cameras, police are looking at surveillance from other parts of the town for any possible clues.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident along with the Arkansas State Police.
