A longtime Roseville resident and father of three was killed Monday after a fire involving fireworks inside his home, officials said.

William Tavernier, 32, was found unconscious in the living room of the single-story ranch during the fire at 2 a.m. in the 26000 block of Marquette, Roseville Fire Marshal Craig Robertson said.

"There were fireworks stored inside of the home, and as the heat and fire got to the fireworks, some of them discharged," Robertson said today. "We're still trying to find the actual cause of the fire, which is still under investigation."

Tavernier, a commercial glass glazier and longtime Roseville resident, had been living in the home for about a month, Robertson said. It could take fire investigators a couple of weeks to determine how the fire actually started, he added.
