Toronto Firefighter Burned Battling Three-Alarmer

The firefighter sustained first- and second-degree burns to his hands, wait and stomach and was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital with what officials said were non-life-threatening injuries.

A Toronto firefighter was burned and two civilians suffered from smoke inhalation following a three-alarm apartment fire Tuesday night.

The unidentified firefighter sustained first- and second-degree burns to his hands, wait and stomach and was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital, according to CBC News.

Officials told the news station that the injuries are not life-threatening.

Crews responded to the fire at 30 Denton Avenue in the Scarborough section of the city around 6:44 p.m.

The fire originated on a balcony of the high-rise and authorities are still investigating the cause.
