Ladder 111 was responding to a fire in Brooklyn with its sirens on when the crash occurred.

An FDNY truck fatally struck a motorcyclist in Brooklyn Monday afternoon, police said.

The 46-year-old victim was tooling down Monroe Street on his cycle when he was struck about 4:20 p.m. by a truck rushing to a rubbish fire on Nostrand Avenue and Quincy Street, according to an FDNY spokesman.

The truck, from Ladder 111, was one of the first assigned units to respond to the blaze and heading to the scene in emergency mode with its sirens on, said the spokesman.

EMS rushed the man to Woodhull Hospital, where he died.

"He didn’t have a chance in hell," said witness Paula Wells, 59. "I just couldn't stop crying, that poor man."

No criminality is suspected, police sources said.
