Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire early Thursday at a vacant warehouse that spread to surrounding buildings.

St. Louis firefighters battled a three-alarm fire early Thursday at a vacant warehouse that spread to surrounding buildings.

Several explosions could be hear inside the structure in the 3400 block of Juniata Street after the fire broke out shortly before 3 a.m., according to The Post-Dispatch.

Several firefighters were overcome by heat during the blaze but otherwise there were no other injuries were reported.

At one point, the rear of the building fell down in the alley and knocked down power lines, leaving about 80 home without power.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
