Atlanta firefighters worked to keep a large fire at a business from spreading to homes and other nearby structures Monday.
More than 60 firefighters responded to the blaze at Doors Unlimited Inc. on Trabert Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. as flames and smoke from the fire could be seen for miles, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
One firefighter was transported to a local hospital after suffering a heat-related illness and was listed in stable condition, Capt. Marian McDaniel told the newspaper.
"Crews operated in a defensive mode due to a potential collapse of both structures on the property," he said. "The structural integrity of the both buildings was compromised."
The fire was contained around 5:40 p.m. as firefighters continued to battle hot spots.
Heavy rains in the area also helped douse the flames.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
