Buffalo Firefighter Burned Battling House Fire

A Buffalo firefighter suffered burns while battling a house fire late Thursday night.

The unidentified firefighter sustained burns to his face and hands, but is expected to be OK, according to WIVB-TV.

Crews responded to the fire on Parkdale Avenue around 11 p.m. to find flames coming from the home.

Officials commended firefighters for quickly extinguishing the blaze.

"These guys as far as I'm concerned, they're the best in the business. They do a phenomenal job day in and day out and they don't get enough credit," Battalion Chief Michael Biasillo told the news station.

No injuries to civilians were reported and three kittens were saved from the burning home.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
