Homeless Man Arrested for Attacking Calif. Firefighter

A homeless man has been accused of assaulting a San Jacinto firefighter who was trying to help him on Saturday.

Police arrested Mark Landon after he grew unresponsive and combative after crews were called to Paradise Lane and Tabernacle Lane around 8 p.m. to assist the man, according to The Desert Sun.

Police say Landon refused to comply with the commands of police and resisted arrest.

He suffered minor injuries during the arrest and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

He was booked into jail on suspicion of assaulting a firefighter, resisting arrest and being under the influence of a controlled substance, the newspaper reported.
