The firefighter was quickly tended to by his colleagues before being transported to Samaritan Medical Center and was expected to be released by Tuesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Dale C. Herman told the newspaper that the firefighter was wearing his helmet, which protected him from a possible head injury.
