Thousands Pause to Remember Fallen Firefighters

Firefighters who died serving their communities were honored Sunday.

“Unbelievable, just unbelievable. What an honor…” she said, adding that no words can describe how grateful she is for the kindness shown.

“He was just phenomenal,” she said looking at Pittsburgh Firefighter Mark Breier, one of the family escorts. “Thank you so much for everything.”

Cox said her husband’s fire chief and four members of the honor guard as well as a number of family members made the trip from Utah. She was happy they were allowed to participate.

Both Cox and Falkenhan say they’ll be back to lend a hand or give a hug just like they received this year.
