Conn. Firefighter Killed by Falling Tree
An Easton firefighter died after a tree limb fell on him about 7:45 p.m. Monday.
Lt. Russell Neary was a life-long resident of Easton and a 13-year veteran of the volunteer fire department, according to Selectman Robert Lessler. His brother is Easton Fire Marshal Peter Neary.
Neary was working to remove debris from a roadway when he was struck near Judd Road.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy met with Easton firefighters Tuesday to offer condolences.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
