A firefighter who suffered serious burns while battling last month's fatal Albany bushfire has been released from hospital.

The 24-year-old firefighter, and her 45-year-old colleague Wendy Bearfoot, were flown to Perth for treatment.

Ms Bearfoot died on Thursday but a Royal Perth Hospital spokeswoman has confirmed her younger colleague has now been discharged.

Worksafe is investigating the blaze but the watchdog's Ian Munn says it is too early to know how long it will take to complete the inquiry.

"We don't have a set time for investigations," he said.

"We understand the desire for families who've had people involved in these incidents for a quick resolution, so we look to do it as quickly as possible, but we really need to be as thorough as we possibly can too."
