Two Norton firefighters were injured when they were knocked to the ground by a flashover at a house fire Saturday, reports The Sun Chronicle.

Captain Benton Keene told the media that crews responded to 22 Buttonwood Road and found heavy flames climbing up the right side of the house, into the eaves and roof.

Firefighters were inside the house when it flashed over and knocked some over. Two were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital due to back injuries. One had been released since the incident while another was still being treated as of Saturday night.

The occupants had safely escaped the house, and it reportedly took firefighters about 30 minutes to knock down the blaze.
