Fort Worth Firefighters Pull Woman From Blaze

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Wednesday where an elderly woman was located with injuries.

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Wednesday where an elderly woman was located with injuries, according to a department press release.

Crews found heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the residence, and as they entered entered the front door, located the female occupant on the couch in the living room.  

Personnel on scene reported the woman sustained second degree burns.

Responders quickly removed her and began CPR, and transported her to JPS Hospital by ground ambulance. According to the Star-Telegram, the woman has since died.

No other victims were located inside the residence.

The fire was quickly brought under control, the department reports, and investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
