N.C. Deputy Fire Marshal Dies of Heart-Related Issue

A deputy fire marshal in North Carolina died Wednesday, Nov. 7 of heart-related issues.

John McClelland Hall, 48, was a fire marshal with Bladen County Emergency Services.

On Nov. 3, Hall fell ill while fighting a fire in the Carvers Creek Community, the USFA reported.

He was placed on bed rest. A few days later he was taken to a hospital where he died.

Hall was also the deputy fire chief of Clarkton Fire Department and was a firefighter with Bladenboro Fire Department.
