Nov. 24--One person died and another person was injured in a house fire early this morning at 520 Eighth Ave. S.

St. Cloud Fire Department responded to the fire at 3:25 a.m. today, said St. Cloud Fire Chief Bill Mund. He said when the firefighters arrived the first floor of the white and gray story-and-a-half structure was engulfed in flames. Firefighters tried to go into the structure but the fire was too intense.

The name of the man who died in the fire has not been released pending notification of family, Mund said. The person injured in the fire was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. He has been released from the hospital and has returned to the scene to help investigators, Mund said.

Two other people who lived in the house were not home at the time of the fire, Mund said.

Fire crews are still on the scene this morning. They are searching the structure but believe all residents have been accounted for.

Mund said no cause has been determined at this time for the fire and no damage estimate is available.

Firefighters and equipment from Waite Park, Sauk Rapids and Sartell assisted the St. Cloud Fire Department.
