Rhode Island Captain Dies After On-Duty Injury

North Kingstown Fire Capt. David Mowbray, 52, had been on medical leave after suffering a broken back on a medical call.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 for a Rhode Island firefighter who died Saturday, Nov. 24.

North Kingstown Rescue Capt. David Mowbray, 52, was a 25-year veteran with the fire department.

Mowbray was on medical leave after he suffered a broken back on a medical call earlier this year, according to the USFA.

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters Kimberlee and Michelle. 

Visiting hours will Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home in Warwick. 

The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
