Nashville Firefighter Critically Injured in House Fire

The firefighter was found unconscious during a blaze Thursday night.

A Nashville firefighter is listed in critical condition after battling a house fire Thursday night.

Crews responded to the fire at a single-story home on Airpark Drive around 8:35 p.m., according to The Tennessean.

"Everything seemed to be going routine and then one of the crews realized that we had somebody that was down," District Chief Ricky Taylor told the newspaper.

The firefighter was found unconscious and was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Taylor said a second firefighter was hospitalized with minor burns to his cheek and neck.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
