Dec. 12--A female firefighter received minor injuries Wednesday morning while fighting a chimney fire in West Colorado Springs.
The fire was reported about 3:45 a.m. at 1321 Westend Avenue and firefighters were able to put out the blaze in about 20 minutes. Firefighters say the blaze was contained to the chimney, but the home also received some water and smoke damage.
The three people inside the duplex were able to get out safely. One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire and was taken to the hospital. According to the department, her injuries were minor.
