Alabama Man Opens Fire on Firefighters; No One Hurt

The Hoover man opened fire on firefighters who answered an EMS call at his home.

An Alabama man fired shots at Hoover firefighters Thursday when they responded to an EMS call at his home.

As firefighters entered through the front door, Phillip Earl Jones Jr. opened fire sending them scattering for safety, according to al.com. 

No one was hurt.

Jones, 45, was taken to Shelby Baptist Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, reports indicated. 

He was charged with attempted murder, and is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond.
