A crash on Interstate 25 in near Fountain left a cattle truck overturned and firefighters and responders scrambling to clean up the wreckage and wrangle the cattle off the roadway.

March 10--An overturned cattle truck on Interstate 25 snarled traffic south of Fountain overnight.

The 11:30 p.m. Saturday crash shut down northbound Interstate 25 for a 6-mile stretch. The truck was headed southbound near the Ray Nixon Road exit when it blew a front tire and the driver lost control, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The truck careened into the median and hit a guardrail before it overturned and slid into the northbound lanes.

Two other vehicles got into wrecks while trying to avoid the truck.

Firefighters, troopers and Colorado Department of Transportation workers worked through the night to wrangle the cattle from the truck and clean up the wreck.
