DUNCAN — Duncan firefighters quickly responded to a house fire call at 603 N. 18th St., about 9 p.m. and pulled a woman from the home, immediately administering CPR.
She was quickly placed on a gurney and transported by ambulance to Duncan Regional Hospital, but no other details about the woman or the fire, were available at the scene.
Neighbors said they smelled smoke, or paper burning, but didn’t see anything unusual. Many didn’t realize there was a possible house fire even after the fire trucks arrived in their neighborhood.
Two women, visibly distraught, who remained anonymous, said they knew the woman and that she was a really good person.
Numerous police officers were also on the scene to assist as needed.
This is the second home fire in March in which a woman was pulled from by firefighters. The first one happened Friday, March 1, and the woman, Debbi Timms, did not survive. Her death was listed as smoke inhalation.
